Many people have turned to camping and RVing to escape the pressures of a fast-paced lifestyle. A subset of these outdoor devotees prefers the whimsy of vintage trailers to modern-day RVs.
Just like classic car enthusiasts like to gather to schmooze and show off their treasured autos, so also vintage trailer owners are increasingly participating in rallies for the pleasure of admiring other models and fellowshipping with like-minded individuals. Vintage trailer rallies are attracting RVers who own, use and have lovingly restored these classic campers that were popular in decades past, reports the Daily Herald.
In July of 2013, the Northern Indiana Vintage Trailer Rally celebrated its sixth year, attracting 200 participants and 70 campers. A good time was had by all, as the RVers visited and engaged in an array of social activities.
But if you missed that one, perhaps you can attend another one held in a different state this weekend. Will Oaks Campground in Woodstock, Illinois will host the Woodstock Vintage Trailer Rally on October 10 through 13. The event will be a perfect opportunity to see a variety of vintage trailers and get to know the owners.
