It’s hard to believe, but the good ol’ summertime is almost here. Soon school will be out, and families will be planning where to go on vacation.
Join us as we welcome the arrival of this carefree season on May 24 to 26 at the Salute to Summer celebration. The event, a star-spangled tribute to the military and fun in the sun, will feature concerts at three stages: the 17th, 24th and 31st Street Parks.
Perhaps the most special part of the gala is a Hero’s Walk along the boardwalk between 17th and 31st Streets. Here, you’ll find essays describing U.S. military conflicts throughout history that are written by local high school students. The essays are posted on banners, so passersby can read them easily.
Admission is free. Hours are from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. The locations are 1700, 2400 and 3100 Atlantic Avenue.
Neptune’s Annual Golf Tournament
Are any golfers out there? If so, don’t miss the Neptune Golf Tournament on May 21 at Bayville Golf Course. Thirty-six foursomes will compete, and prizes will be awarded. For more information, visit this website: neptunefestival.com/events/golf-tournament.
