There are certain perks associated with visiting a military town like Virginia Beach. On Veterans Day, November 11, the city will host one of the best parades associated with the event that the area has seen. Starting at 9 a.m., more than 100 units will march or perform along the route that starts at 16th Street and Atlantic Avenue.
The parade will culminate at the Tidewater Veterans Memorial on 19thStreet before noon. At this time, a formal ceremony will be held across the street at 1000 19th Street.

Those of us who are old enough to remember the 1960s dearly love all the memorable songs from Rogers and Hammerstein musicals. Yet the poignancy and beauty of these tunes are appreciated by people of any age. If you’re a fan of this renowned composing duo, you won’t want to miss “A Grand Night of Singing” on November 22 and 23 at the Sandler Center for the Performing Arts. You’ll be treated to standards such as “Some Enchanted Evening,” “I’m Gonna Wash That Man Right Outta My Hair” and “Oh, What a Beautiful Morning.” What a time it will be!
