Thanks to the amazing generosity of the entire RV industry, we’re happy to report the TACO Relief Fund has surpassed $30,000! We could have never imagined this level of support and are grateful to everyone that contributed. To that end, the fund will close on August 1st so that TACO can begin the process of awarding funds to those in need. A committee has been formed, made up of both TACO staff and member parks, to review applications and determine the level of assistance awarded.
Additionally, August 1st will be the deadline for RV parks and campgrounds to apply for those funds. Click here to apply and submit to be considered.
Lastly, we’ve also been blown away by the level of support from our supplier and vendor members. Everything from discounts on items needed to get back up and running to volunteering staff to assist in cleanup, those members have stepped up in a big way. Much like the deadlines above, if you are a vendor/supplier that would like to offer an in-kind donation of any kind, please submit those to Lisa Rhodes by August 1st. You can email her at [email protected].
TACO working with the State Legislature to Enhance Park Safety
Recently, Texas legislators have reached out to TACO in an effort to better understand the safety precautions in place. Governor Abbott has called a special session that will cover a host of issues that will include disaster relief and preparedness and TACO will be at the table and will provide updates as we get them.
Topper’s RV and Texas Campgrounds Partner to Support Impacted RVers
A reminder that TACO has teamed up with Topper’s to offer discounts to RVers impacted by the flood. You may know of someone or a park in the area affected that you can relay this information to. From Topper’s:
On the Fourth of July, the Texas Hill Country was forever changed. Historic flooding surged through the region in the middle of the night, devastating campgrounds and sweeping away RVs, tents and the people within them.
Our hearts are heavy for every family impacted.
Topper’s RVs of the Greater Houston area has always been part of the camping community, not just as a dealer, but as fellow travelers. Many of those affected were our neighbors, our customers and our friends. That’s why we’re stepping in to help however we can.
We’ve partnered with the Texas Association of Campground Owners (TACO) to provide immediate relief and ongoing support.
Effective immediately, Topper’s RVs will be offering $1,000 off all new RVs for those directly impacted by the Kerr County Flood, including delivery costs.Additionally, a portion of those sales will go towards the Texas Hill Country Campgrounds and RV Parks Disaster Relief fund that was set up by the Texas Association of Campground Owners.
