The Texas Association of Campground Owners (TACO) is now working with RV dealers across the Lone Star State to promote camping within their respective service areas, according to a press release.

“We think this is a great way to promote closer working relationships between RV dealers and campground operators throughout Texas,” said Brian Schaeffer, TACO’s executive director and CEO.

The effort began as a pilot program with Topper’s RVs in Waller and PPL Motorhomes, which has locations in the Houston, Dallas/Fort Worth and New Braunfels markets. Topper’s RVs and PPL now offer their customers discount coupons to camp at participating TACO-member campgrounds within 50 miles of each dealership.

“The response from dealers and consumers has been positive so far,” said Schaeffer, adding that TACO produces the discount coupons for use at each campground.

So far, nine campgrounds are offering discounts for customers of five RV dealers across Texas, including campgrounds in the following dealer markets:

PPL Houston: Royal Palms RV Resort in Magnolia and Woodland Lakes RV Park in Conroe

PPL Cleburne: Flying Dutchman RV Resort in Waxahatchie and Highland Hideaway RV Resort in Cleburne

PPL New Braunfels: Sun Retreats Texas Hill Country in New Braunfels and Mystic Quarry in Canyon Lake

PPL Decatur: West Gate RV Park in Poolville

Topper’s RVs in Waller: Royal Palms RV Resort in Magnolia and Woodland Lakes RV Park in Conroe

Dozens of campgrounds have already volunteered to participate and will be connected with dealers as they opt in to the program.
