Ahoy there! Make plans to come to the Pirate on the Beach Party on May 11 and 12. The two-day madcap event will include music, pirate reenacting, costume contests, a treasure hunt, games and a movie. It will also feature hijinks and swordplay by the Shadow Players Stage Combat Group. Like all coastal cities, Virginia Beach has its share of pirate lore, which locals and visitors enjoy to the hilt.

Admission is free. Hours are from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. The location is the 17th Street Stage/Park (Dairy Queen).

Sensible Seafood Fest

If you love fish and other seafood dishes, you won’t want to miss the Sensible Seafood Fest on May 16. Come sample the scrumptious eats created by local and regional chefs.

Tickets are $65 to $75. Hours are from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. The location is the Virginia Aquarium & Marine Science Center at 717 General Booth Boulevard.

Fun Place Added to Campground

If you haven’t visited the campground in recent months, you may not be aware that we’ve added a fun place for families to play giant chess, corn hole, horseshoes, ladderball and gaga ball. In addition, we have hammocks, and a Jump Pad, along with our Bike Shack, and giant inflatable slide in season.
