One of the pleasures of fall is having a greater variety of crisp, juicy apples from which to choose. Put the Apple Extravaganza on September 21 on your calendar, as it will be great way to welcome this wonderful season. The event will include live music, food trucks, craft vendors and children’s activities such as face painting.
Admission is free. Hours are from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The location is the Virginia Beach Farmers’ Market on 3640 Dam Neck Road.
VBFH FreedomFest
Military events are always inspiring because they remind us of what our armed forces do to keep us safe and free. On September 7, Camp Pendleton will host FreedomFest, a gala that will include Navy SEAL demonstrations, live music and all-you-can-eat food from Froggie’s.
Admission is $50 in advance or $70 at the gate. Hours are from noon to 6 p.m. Camp Pendleton is located on Birdneck Road.
Autumn Care Cornhole Tournament
Do you love the game of cornhole? If so, don’t miss the Autumn Cornhole Tournament on September 20.
The cost to participate is $40 in advance or $50 at the door. Admission for spectators is $30 in advance or $40 at the door. Hours are from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The location is Lunasea at 206 22nd Street.
