The area around Spanish Fork is full of natural beauty. A picturesque spot that provides additional health benefits is the Fifth Water Hot Springs. With three scenic waterfalls and several soaking pools, why not take a hike out there and spend an afternoon?
Fifth Water Creek is a tributary just east of Spanish Fork on the Diamond Fork River. You can access the hot springs and waterfalls from two different trail heads. The Three Forks Trailhead is located in Diamond Fork Canyon. The Rays Valley Trailhead is located on the Rays Valley Road north of Hwy 6. It’s about 4.5 miles out and back to the springs.
The soaking pools are perfectly clear, and one of the waterfalls is right next to a pool area. Control the temperature of the springs by cutting off the water flow coming into the pools and/or moving to different locations within the larger pools. In warmer weather, the hot springs are pretty popular. In the winter, the snow is usually well-packed so you can hike without snowshoes, but you will need a 4WD vehicle to access the trailhead.
You can get more information about visiting the springs and accessing the trailheads here or on their Facebook page here.
