Just down the road from Rio Bonito is a true Texas Century Ranch that you have to experience! The Indian Mound Ranch has been managed by family since 1873 and is a beautiful spot to enjoy a summer day. The Ranch’s 400-acres border the San Gabriel River, providing spectacular nature views and a variety of wildlife.
Their Farmer’s Market is a newer addition to the Ranch, but it hosts vendors from all over the area. You’ll find an abundance of fresh produce, bakery items, and staples like eggs and honey. Vendors also include craftsmen and artists making unique items that make perfect souvenirs of your stay in the Hill Country! The market takes place on Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. You can also head out on Thursday night for Food Truck Thursdays from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. to sample a variety of goodies from local vendors.
