Local residents established the Nebo Holiday Chorus & Orchestra (“NHCO”) to promote the performing arts and allow local residents to increase their artistic skills. Now, you have an opportunity to be a part of the NHCO and bring the gift of music to the community this holiday season. The NHCO plans performances of Handel’s “Messiah”, sure to blow us all away. The NHCO needs choir and orchestra performers to take part in this production. Approximately 280 musicians will be performing together, and everyone from professional musicians to hobbyists are welcome to audition. The only requirements to audition are being over the age of sixteen and residing within the Nebo school district.
You can visit the website to review the rehearsal schedule and the audition pieces, and to obtain more information about the NHCO. Auditions will take place October 13th-15th at the LDS Aspen Meadows Building in Spanish Fork from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m., with rehearsals to start soon after.
If you’re not interested in trying out, make sure to put this special event on your calendar. Performances will take place in Salem on December 18th and Spanish Fork on December 20th. You can get more details here. You’ll also want to check out the fascinating history of “Messiah”, which is detailed here.
